Client Experience

Of which business achievements are you most proud?

Being part of the A&K teams that helped United Way exceed its fundraising goals for five straight years; NewAlliance Bank achieve record-breaking earnings reports; and Hartford Stage celebrate 40 years of theater.

What awards/recognition do you value most?

Won the AAAA’s “Advertising Excellence” award for a team project for LEGO, sort of like “The Apprentice,” but without the celebrities. Many awards from the Ad Club of Connecticut, CADC, AMA, PRSA and more.

What traits help you succeed?

Drive, creativity, Type A, Virgo qualities, thick skin and a sense of humor.

What motivates you?

The free lunch at Adams & Knight certainly helps.

How do you hold it together when things get stressful?

Talk it out…along with music and snacks.

How have your roots contributed to who you are today?

Grew up in New Haven (Louis’ Lunch for hamburgers, Archie Moore’s for buffalo wings, and Sally’s, BAR or Modern for pizza). Did a lot of acting in school and college, including improv. Learned to be ready for anything life throws at you. Played a lot of golf growing up. Still a member at the Yale Golf Course. You can learn a lot about someone on a golf course.

What is your idea of happiness?

Watching a movie at home with my family while eating Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby (out of the pint). Golfing with friends at the Yale Golf Course in the fall. Watching the New York Giants, when they’re winning, of course.

What would people find most surprising about you?

I’ve donated 10 gallons of blood (O negative, to be specific) over the course of many years. I survived 27 mergers and acquisitions in the banking industry. Thanks to the movies Jaws and Poltergeist, I’m freaked out by sharks and cemeteries.

Who would you invite to your fantasy dinner table?

I never had a chance to play golf with my father and grandfather while they were alive. I’d love to play golf with them, together with my son, and then have dinner with them all and exchange stories.

Your favorite motto, quote, saying?

Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you.
