Karen is a seasoned marketing communications professional with 30 years experience, writing and editing virtually thousands of materials.

Innately social, it’s fitting that she oversees the agency’s content marketing efforts, applying her communications expertise to optimize social media opportunities for the agency.

Of which business achievements are you most proud?

I am most proud of my long tenure with Adams & Knight. Not only have I grown in my 20+ years with this agency, I’ve been able to use what I’ve learned to impact various businesses, clients and colleagues.

What do you find most fulfilling about your work?

I like to solve problems. It’s very fulfilling when people say to me “Awesome. That’s exactly what we needed.” 

What traits help you succeed?

Two things. First, my tenacity. No matter how difficult the job, I stick with it until it’s done. (And done well.)

Second, my ability to not take things too seriously. As most around the office will tell you, I can laugh at myself…and often.

How have your roots contributed to who you are today?

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Looking back, living in the city from a young age made me very scrappy and extremely skeptical. I asked a lot of questions and didn’t believe what anyone said . . . until I could prove it was true. Seems to have been good training for my career as a copywriter and getting to the heart of the story.

What is your idea of happiness?

To me, happiness is being with my family. I find the happiest times of my life have been spent with my husband and my son . . . whether we’ve been watching UCONN basketball on TV or vacationing in the Caribbean.

What would people find most surprising about you?

I’ve sponsored and supported a young boy in Honduras for the past 14 years.
